Thumbs up Flashpoint - New Police Sniper series on CBS

This looks interesting! I hope it isnt one of those cheeze shows that lasts one half season.

CTV Series Flashpoint Picked Up by CBS for U.S. Broadcast
-- New CTV drama becomes first Canadian series since Due South to air on network television in both Canada and U.S. --
-- CBS Paramount Network Television Partners with CTV and Toronto-Based Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment --
Los Angeles, CA (January 29, 200 - A new CTV original Canadian drama series currently in pre-production has been picked up by CBS for broadcast later this year in the United States. Flashpoint (working title, a.k.a. Sniper) is a new police drama about an elite, big city Strategic Response Unit (SRU). CBS has picked up 13 episodes of the one-hour drama series, which was green-lit by CTV in December. When it premieres later this year, Flashpoint will become the first Canadian series since CTV's Due South in 1994 to air in network primetime in both Canada and the United States. Production begins in Toronto in April.

Sounds like it may be worth a shot. I am sure there will be all kinds of gun related errors and exaggerations, but that is typical for TV.

I doubt that. I usually use the double ricochet method for killing someone I can't see around a corner.

Question Unusual weapon in last night's show

Disclaimer: I think Flashpoint is often pretty lame, but I watch it anyway when it's the least lame thing on.

Bald Sniper Guy was using something very weird last night - it was a shoulder-fired object with all kinds of stuff applied to it. In particular, it looked like it had a Glock slide mounted up front on top. It might also have had a shotgun tube, but I never got a long enough look to be sure. I swear at one point it looked like it was jointed so that BSG could aim it around a corner.

Anybody know what that was?

It's an Israeli made gun attachment. I think its called side fire or sure fire. It allowds the operator to us the gun around a corner with a small LCD screen that allows the gun to be exposed but not the operator. Versions are made with a pack pack and a larger LCD screen so the team following the person can view what the camera sees. I think it was on future weapons.

I saw that too, and I was wondering what it was. I figured it was just some Hollywood rig that didn't exist.

It exists, Mack got to play with it. It also comes in a kitty cat stuffed animal look for when you go ultra covert.

So far I have just not been really impressed with this show. I do watch it but only when there is nothing else better to watch.

Thanks for the tip. It's called Corner Shot. Here's a link. CornerShot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glad to know it's not some made-up Hollywood thing.

It's an ok show, but sometimes the gear doesn't match up & neither do their SWAT tactics on certain situations........but hey, it's a TV show......
