Around here it is the same with an adder. Most of their little angels have $1000's invested in video games, $300 cell phones and mommy is hauling it hard in her Hummer to get them to soccer practice on time. If gas is soooo expensive why is it that the new Hollywood films are a filling their coffers with millions in one weekend... hmmmmm?

I am still driving my Expedition that I bought used.... $15000 instead of $40000. It hurts when I fill it up and its $80, but it would hurt worse to have a car payment that is twice what I am paying now to have a fancy save the planet hybrid car that I can't haul lumber in, or mulch, or pull a trailer. Whats more, I like being able to KNOW that I have the power of that V8 to get on the highway when I need it and not bog down and get run over. My grandmother has a 88 Suburban that is payed for with a real Chevy 350. It gets crappy mileage, buy why get a car payment when you can just deal with paying for the gas. I am guessing that is the attitude of a lot of people.

Damn Battery Cars!!!!!

i've slow down and it has helped some. also consolidated trips. it seems like i see more small motorcycles like 250's and 500's but it may be because i pay attention to what people drive now.

btw, i do drink out of the bottled water containers but i refill them with tap water now.

My friends all make fun of me because I drive so slow... which is generally about 10 mph under the speed limit.

Exactly! Here in Seattle, they talk about "time-saver traffic" reports. What a joke. There is one freeway going N-S and basically one going E-W. There are no alternates. Ok, so I hear there is a wreck on I-90, it's the only way to get from Issaquah to Seattle, how does that save me time? It's a good thing I listen to the news this morning, now I know I'm going to be late instead of figuring it out when I get to the on-ramp.

i hear yeah , I don't really complain about gas that much, heck i did just buy a 08 silverado a couple of weeks ago, but I did only get the V6 and I consolidate my driving into as few as trips as possible, and when possible ride my bike which gets 52 MPG.

all that being said if gas does continue on this path , this maybe the first and last full size pickup I ever buy.

Nikon,
Is a radical

Speed Limit
Seems to be the mentality in Phoenix. If you go to slow some think they have the gas and the power to make you speed up.

You'll know it is bad when people start looking for stock width tires and get rid of those spinner's that catch the wind and turn backwards. No one will convince me that fat tires and spinners don't waste gas.

BAH!

My car gets 21mpg average.

I consolidate my trips.
and drive right at the speed limit (in the slow lane) and get over to let others pass (if applicable)

I plan my errands to the T
Today for example I had to go to the bank, the store and the post office.
I ended up forgetting something at the store for dinner tonight... So instead of going back to the store I opted to make tacos with what I had.

mmmm mmm tacos and corona!
