F.N.G.
Greetings and salutations all. I'm a Police Officer in Southern Iowa. I just recently decided to purchase my first plastic framed pistol and after consulting my buisness manager read WIFE my choices were a Glock or XD. The Glocks are a great weapon but dont point well for me after looking at several I setled on a O.D. framed XD Tactical .40. So far I like the pistol quite a bit but am a little concearned about the lack of holsters available for it. Bear in mind this is not my duty weapon but will be carried with me a great deal of the time while hunting, fishing ect." Lots of Meth labs in our area" and will be the house gun after the addition of a flashlight and meprolite sights. Will this pistol fit in the Bianchi UM-84, M-12 holster? Are there any additions that will take some of the snap out of the recoil impulse? And finally where is the best place Price wise to get Hi-Cap mags, factory Springfields not Pro-mag CRAP. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bigun

Hi Bigun,
Welcome aboard. The UM84/M12 wouldn't fit my XD-40; it was too tight in the triggerguard. I understand the UM84-II will fit the XD-40, but your gun is an inch longer and that don't help you much. I'd just call Bianchi and see if they have anything that will work. The best addition I can think of to deal with the recoil problem is about a case of Wolf .40/180/FMJ. The more you shoot it, the less it'll bother you. If I needed mags I'd just bite the bullet and buy them direct from SFA. Call 'em & tell 'em that you DA FUZZ and you might get a better price, particularly if you order on letterhead. Take care-

Im having Eric of hbeleather make me a custom holster for my makarov and XD. Might want to check into his products if you can wait a bit for the holster. Good stuff!
http://www.hbeleatherworks.com/ As far as the recoil, you could install a dons guide rod and stiffer spring. That will help with some of the percieved recoil.

Welcome bigun... You shouldn't post your city here. You might be wanted by the law.
