Thumbs up Crichton's "Andromeda Strain" on A&E

We just watched the first part (two parter) of Michael Crichton's "Andromeda Strain" on A&E (regular and HD)... second part to be broadcast tomorrow (Tuesday).

Both first and second parts will be rebroadcast. Part 1 will be replayed at 6 pm (CT) before the premier of Part 2 at 8 pm CT.

If you are an SF fan, do not miss it... really good... light years better than the original 1971 flick... and I really liked that movie.

Remember in the original, the fighter on overflight went down because Andromeda "ate" all the hosing and insulation materials. So, not too different.

Never saw the original (born about a decade after it was released ), but this one was pretty well done for a TV movie. The gas can/chainsaw sequence was pretty intense. I plan on tuning in tomorrow for 2 of 2.

I'll have to catch it on DVD, but I too enjoyed both the original flick and the novel.
