I think this lady should put some serious thought into hiring a lawyer.
Sounds to me like they had no reason to treat her the way they did.So to cover there asses they cite her for Disturbing the peace!!! What a crock!!! |

I strongly disagree. It was plain stupid of her not to put that shotgun in a bag or try to cover it while in a public place. She was very lucky she didn't get shot.
People get upset over a opencarried handgun let alone someone standing in front of a BANK with a freaking shotgun. |

I think she lost any case when she steped onto bank property with the gun (I dont know about the specific bank, but im sure they would be a gun free zone)

In MI you are allowed to conceal carry in banks, assuming it's not posted as a gun free zone.
Openly carrying a shotgun near the premises, however...well, common sence should prevail...

I agree, what she did was pretty stupid in this day and age.
The thing is,she did nothing illegal. That I can see.Otherwise I think they would have cited her for a firearm related charge |

Now here's the catch: if you walk around with a rifle bag (clearly shaped in sucha way one can tell there's a rifle inside) you won't be charged for you're obeying the law. BUT, if you carry your handgun in say, those millitary styles holsters (covering the whole gun) you wouldn't be breaking the law as the gun is techically speaking NOT exposed, but the shape of the holster indicating you carry a handgun (even if it's empty, for transport only) would get you in serious trouble as it would be deemed "disturbing" for the citizens. Weird huh? |

and since it was prolly a gun free zone on bank property during banking hours she was infact probly breaking the law...soo a lawyer would be as useful as a boot flavored lollypop. |
