I would avoid the Charter arms pistols like the plague they have a spotty record at best. The fact that they have been in and out of bankrupcy should send up a warning flag. The best thing to remember is that any gun or caliber you chose should fit you and your carry style. A gun that is comfortable to carry in any calliber is always better than one that is uncomfortable and spends all its time on the bedside table.

I agree to stay away from charter arms. With Taurus or Smith you can get a great revolver with a good track record. If a flatter semi auto is needed, i agree again with the others as, Kahr, Kel-Tec, NAA all good choices. Taurus Mil Pro is ok but I sold mine due to trigger. I had the PT111Ti 9mm 12rnd.

I think its time you find out what wonderful little pistols the Makarov is.
A nice Bulgarain Makarov ought to serve your needs and it is inexpensive, accurate and utterly reliable. Power with Cor Bons is like a light 9mm - more powerful than a 25, 32 or 380 and it is cheaper to shoot as well. You simply will NOT buy anything under 200 bucks that is this durable, reliable, powerful or accurate. Its just not out there in that price range...sorry. Anyone else care to chime in on the great little Makarov pistol? I carry mine alot in a t-shirt and shorts and it is very comfortable. -Brickboy240

You can still buy nice Makarovs for around 150 bucks. A steal for a gun of that quality and its all steel machined construction...no plastic or cast pot metal alloys...a real firearm.
Why anyone buys 32s or 380s anymore is beyond me, when this wonderful little pistol is readily available. -Brickboy240

well, I have narrowed it down to between the Mak and teh Millenium Pro. No my choices will be influenced by the availability and price that I can get one or the other.

Before you conclude your search, I've heard nothing but good about a particular pocket 9mm:
http://www.rohrbaughfirearms.com/product/prod_set.html A little spendy, but CH magazine did a review several issues ago--quite a good shooter. There's also the "slim" glock 36 in .45ACP: http://www.glock.com/g36.htm Lots of good choices out there--pick a winner. One other thing, consider a firearm with a common ammo type. The Maks are great, but if your considering the one I think you are, the ammo can be considered armor piercing. You might have some legal troubles with that if you're ever in a shoot. From your two choices I'd cast my vote for the Millenium...but at least check out the Rohrbaugh.
