New Toy for the Rifle
Decided to try out a red dot scope on my SU16A. So I ordered an inexpensive one from MidWayUSA. Looked pretty nice for the price.
Simmons Red Dot Sight 30MM 1X 4MOA. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=544018 ![]() Attached to this Kel Tec SU16A. ![]() It arrives in a couple of days, gonna boresight it, and take it down to the range and have some fun. Maybe shoot off some rounds from the XD while I am there.

Do you like that kel-tec? always wanted to give one a spin.
i really like the shorty version of that rifle. http://www.kel-tec.com/su-16d_rifle.htm it's just not worth an ATF SBR stamp for the other version i like is the bright yellow one. seems like the sort of rifle to have on a boat or something if you were out at sea....or going mountain climbing around grizzly bears or something. haha. ps, always a good idea to get a cheap red dot if you havent tried them before so you can see if you like them. some people never like shooting both eyes open.

Yea, first time using a red dot. As for the rifle, I love it, I just need to pick up some AR15 10 rounders that are not some sort of polymer, they flex to much. I used a friend's 30 rounder once at a range in Nevada. Gun ran great, ZERO problems, fairly accurate too. 100 yards with a decent scope, 1 1/2" to 3" groupings.

why not get 30 rounders? kalifornia? for m16 fullsize mags my first choice is d&h industries or the older labelle ones made at the same factory. dh are nice tho nice. can get them with teflon coating, no tilt follower or even chrome silicon springs if u want. you can get metal 20 or 10 m16 magazines though quite easily.

concealed carry and pistol caliber help please!
THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! I HIT REPLY INSTEAD OF NEW TOPIC LIKE A DUMBASS! SORRY!
I currently own a SA XD service model in .40 that I found too cumbersome for concealed carry. I am 25, wear jeans and t-shirt everywhere, and had a lot of problems with that gun printing with my very skinny build, so I haven't been carrying often. Recently, I have payed more attention to the crime in my area and osme of teh stuff I have seen come through teh ER. I have decided that I want to carry a weapon pretty much all teh time. I think I need a smaller gun to successfully carry concealed with my lifestyle. The problem with that is the smaller caliber that ussually acocmpanies having a small gun. Are pistols like this one: http://www.taurususa.com/products/pr...ategory=Pistol or this one: http://www.berettausa.com/product/pr...stols_main.htm worth looking at? What can other you guys suggest? I would like to keep it cheap. Probably no more than $350 if possible. Thanks for any suggestions guys.

I have not used that specific sight before, but I do have a C-More on my FN Tactcal Police shotgun (modified Winchester 1300 with an A4 colapsible pistol grip stock). I love it! Target aquistition is lightning fast! The way the dot floats on the glass, as soon as the dot is on taget, the gun is on target. Works great!
Let us know how it shoots when you get it.

03RangerXLT, I wouldn't consider anything in .25 ACP. I'd sooner trust 22lr for personal protection. I'm of the (prevailing) opinion that 9x19 is the minimum reliable personal protection round. I have a Kel-Tec 380 and a Makarov in 9x18 Makarov, and I consider those rounds to be borderline as far as power goes.
For a small gun you might want to look at the Kel-Tec .380 or P11 (9mm), the Taurus and S&W snubbie revolvers and the Kahr 9mm and .40. The Bersa Thunder .380 and the Makarov are also good choices. Oops. Sorry about the thread Hijack.
