Looks more like it fired out of battery. The case wall is blown quite a bit up. A double charge usually does way more case damage, besides what is done to the pistol. Looks like you can put a new trigger in it, slap the slide on, and off you go. It is a Glock right??

All is well other than...

The damage total comes to a cut finger... minor injury from flying plastic. One totaled Glock 21 mag. A Shattered Trigger. One ruffed up Trigger bar that still works. The Ejector is ruffed up too. The mag release is stripped and blown out. There is one slight crack in the frame at the front slide rail. Glock will have to look at that one to see if the Frame is Totaled. Other than that crack the frame is good. We just have to replace the Trigger assemble and Mag Release. The most amazing Damage is Winchester Tattooed on the back of the slide and the crease where the case bulged and then blew out. The Glock will still Cycle rounds and function normally but the mag will not stay in.

This doesn't make sense to me......you don't shoot your own reloads out of your own gun??? How do you shoot your reloads then? Or did you mean that you won't shoot your reloads through other peoples guns either......just curious.

Question.....How did you know one of the rounds was a double charge? Are you basing that off the "feel" of the explosion.....or did you know in advance that it was a double charge? How do you reload you pistol ammo...single stage or with a progressive press?

I used to use single stage, which almost guaranteed that I wouldn't load a double charge, then I switched to a progressive press with an extra "Powder Cop Die" to help keep an eye on the powder charge of each case......so far I've had great success with no double charges!

I'm glad neither of you were hurt & I'm sorry to hear that it happened.

I inserted a round into the breech and measured where the barrel covered. Then reinserted (Forced) the blown round in the barrel aligned and remeasured. About 1/8 inch of the back of the case is exposed. I think Bidah might be right the slide was out of battery. How else could I tell?

I don't know for sure it was a double charge I was making an assumption. My buddy said that the recoil was huge but he might have been feeling the pressure wave go down and out the mag well.

I reload with a Lee Loadmaster (Progressive)
I would Never... NEVER try to load an overcharge.

This Load was a 230 grain Remington FMJ with 5 grains bullseye and Magtech primer.

I am super anal when it comes to my loads. I weigh 70% of my finished rounds. They are with in -1.5 grains and never over 1 gain above finished weight. Out of tolerance ...out of my ammo box.
