We use to pick up 50 gallon drums of it from a few chain stores. Now it is done to the mom and pop shops that give the oil and the chain stores are selling it now.

i was telling my wife that if things go south, i may get a horse and hire out to guard people's cattle. rustling still goes on today and if people can't afford to buy it you can bet they are going to steal it. she said how could they afford to pay you if things were that bad? my reply was to feed our family off their land. thankfully my MIL has a farm/ranch. they grow lots of things and have a bunch of livestock. my family lives on the coast and dad has taught me how to fish, not just with a rod and reel. my wife is most likely accepting a job in my hometown, which is on the coast. so between fishing and her family's ranch, we would be ok i think if it ever got to be like Jericho . but that is all tinfoil, the sky is falling. i am not sure why, but i have faith that things will get better...............

If things get tough it will be the way of life to barter for things. My guess is that cash will become damn near worthless. Like you I was raised to know how to exist. I wonder about the teens and twentysumpthins that haven't a clue how to cook things with out a microwave... If the cost of food gets too high.... the deer and fish here ...betta be worried!

Cheers
Mac.

Of course to make ends meet, we could all become male prostitutes on the side.
I just don't know how the Wives will take it.

It would only turn out 50 gallons at a time and took a few days, but it paid itself off in no time.

I've wondered the same thing.

I'm planning on buying some sort of dual-sport or street bike after I pay some of the Crown Vic down (I'm paying extra every month just to get out from under it faster). Also, none of the places I'm looking at living at are any more than 5 miles from work, so biking will be a definite when the weather allows it.

Take it? The money we make? That won't change...same as they always have.

My only question is what she is going to do with all the $1.00 bills I bring home... The quality ain't so good....but the quantity...is right up there.

Cheers
