Remember, the same media that hypes people up about 'assault rifles' is telling you about '$15 gasoline'.

Exactly. Anyone can be an expert when hidden behind a carefully worded article.

i was watching some show the other night about 'hyper-violence' in america'
after abotu 10 minutes i couldnt stomach it anymore, but this large church in colorado had a guy come in and starting rampaging.
well, there happened to be an off duty cop working security, and she attends there. well, she removed her weapon and proceeded to take care of the situation before it go too much further out of hand. and the only thing i can think of is, thank God the she was armed and became His vessel of protection of the flock.

What got me about the show was they they kept saying assault rifle etc etc, and showing pics of both ak's and ar's. this is where i just got tired of this crap and went to go watch sponge bob....

what can be done really. we have set ourselves up for this. i have voted for few of the leaders in this country. i am only twenty eight and just recently got into politics. in the past i just voted for who my parents voted for because it made sense at the time. we have put people into office, either by not voting or voting for the wrong idiots. our leaders have let us get into this mess. and combine the fact that we as americans indulge in all of the conveniences offered by a highly industrialized, modern society. and that takes energy. and that takes oil. now we can't even afford to drive to work anymore.

i think the question should be what are you going to do when the store shelves are bare because no one can afford to ship food and goods to the stores. or if they do make it to the shelves the prices will be so high you can't afford them. what are you going to do when you're laid off because the company you work for can't pay the bills, let alone your paycheck. how will you feed your family? keep a roof over their heads? keep away robbers and pillagers?

the situation we are in may or may not lead to a depression, but the way the media and politicians spin things puts people into a panic and that could cause some serious issues in its self. as someone mentioned the panic generated by the media when rita and katrina hit was insane. traffic was deadlocked on the highways. people died, in their cars, waiting for someone to come and help. i saw what happened with my own eyes. we were going through rolling blackouts in our city. evacuees were roaming neighborhoods, stealing whatever they could. my neighbors and i sat up at night armed in the dark, protecting our street. it was cooler to sleep outside than in the house because we had no electricity to cool the house or keep food.

someone correct me(and i know the experts on this board will) but could we not use nuclear power to run our businesses, homes, factories etc.. on a large scale and save oil for vehicles? and then develop a vehicle to run efficiently on electricity, or something else. people are calling for it now but i don't think the technology is there yet. sure there are electric cars but they have a severely limited range and speed. and with gas powered vehicles on the highways, they would be more of a liability. hell build some refineries, drill some holes. china is already off of the florida coastline drilling now. do you think they give a rats ass if they screw up and pollute our beaches? i say put american companies out there and let them bring up that oil. i know it costs tons of money for deep water drilling. but they are making billions of dollars per year, do some exploring. drill anwr. do something other than get on my tv set and lie to me and tell me there is no recession or depression or whatever.

i know my views are a little off but i don't care they are my opinions. so before you go flaming me, know that you will be wasting your time.

the housing market went nuts and crashed. the same can happen with oil. @ $15 a gallon, our economy and the world economy would be done away with. The price cannt be sustained. This is economic fear mongering.

Many other aspects of society would unravel on the way up to $15 a gallon. Buy your "assault weapons" soon before they join in on the price hike!!!!!
