Two men sought in attacks on Katy-area taco vendors | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Authorities believe the men may have committed similar robberies in the area dating back to February. In the most recent incident, the attackers spoke Spanish with a Mexican accent.

I wrote to the guy who did the story and asked him if anyone he knew spoke Spanish with a German accent.

Could it be someone who spoke Spanish with a Cuban accent? What if it was a German person who learned Spanish?

It is funny and seems redundant, but I guess with the number of Americans learning Spanish in school, it makes sense to clarify that it wasn't a cracker who spoke Spanish in an effort to conceal identity.

Houstons so pro illegal I was surprised to hear them say such a thing. They even have a mexican section at the bottom of their website.

Mexico is one of many countries that speak Spanish and each country has distinct accents. Even within one country you may have different accents. Someone from Mexico has a very different accent than someone from Argentina.

It is not unlike the U.S., we all speak English, but a New Yorker has a very distinct and different accent than a Texan.

Mexican spanish sounds much different then lets say Puerto Rican spanish.

I am married to a butter pican rican and when i hear her speaking spanish (usually when she is mad at me) its noticably different then the mexican spanish i hear around town.

Different tones, slang, etc...
