Because looking down that sewer pipe has a calming effect on some people.

And 9mm is foreign and reminds us of the WWII Germans and other enemies we have crushed that didn't use the manly caliber of .45acp that God himself handed down to John Moses Browning along with the design of the M1911. If 9mm was that good it would have been handed down to JMB. However, it was not thus it is the round of evil.
Good point, I was wondering when someone was going to reference the fact that the design for the .45, and the 1911 pistol were discovered by Browning when an angel led him to a hill and had him dig up gold plates with the designs written on them in some heavenly language that he had to read by placing rocks in a hat and looking through it to decipher the proper translation.

I think it was the same hill a guy named smith found many years earlier with another testament of Jesus Christ buried in it.

I would NOT recommend a forty for a new shooter.

Train, be skillful and caliber will become secondary.

I shot .45 out of a 1911 with uncle sam before some smart arse decided to take them away and hand out 9mm. Luckily our Amorer somehow was able to have a spare crate of 1911's.

When I was going to get XD I pick the .45 for the reason that it's the same ammo my Thompson shoots, with limited storage space at the moment it's easier just to buy one caliber ammo.

My dad served his time in the Marines and was certain that when he bought another gun it would be a 1911. That all changed when he fired my M9. He decided that he liked it so much that he went out and bought one for himself (after convincing my mom that they needed a HD gun due to several break ins at their house).

Is that why them damn Nazi's lost to us?

One more reason for .45: a hot chick once commented on my 1911 "oh, it is kind of big!"
