exactly what MPAK87 said....only I'm not a college student. Better to hit with a 9mm than to miss with a .45.....but if you actually can hit with a .45, then game over.

I'm waiting for one of you die-hard .45 fans to volunteer to be shot with a 9mm to prove just how wimpy it is.

I have a .40 just because they don't make a .45 XD in the 3" sub-compact form and I wanted the 3" frame for concealed carry. My next gun will be a .45 1911, but it won't be for concealed carry.

No one here has said 9mm is wimpy. This thread asked why we did or did not choose .45acp caliber.

It has been stated many times already that caliber isnt really the deal breaker. .45 is simply as American as apple pie and Chevrolet and us that love .45acp don't hate 9mm, we just love .45acp.

I doubt anyone here would volunteer to be shot with ANYTHING!

And 9mm is foreign and reminds us of the WWII Germans and other enemies we have crushed that didn't use the manly caliber of .45acp that God himself handed down to John Moses Browning along with the design of the M1911. If 9mm was that good it would have been handed down to JMB. However, it was not thus it is the round of evil.

I just like the heavy "THUMP" when my XD45 lets loose. I'm sure I'll be getting a 9mm sooner or later but the .45 always 'felt' better when fired.

My 5" Tactical is good to 50 yards, I practice at that distance.

I had a 1911 SA GI. The XD shoots better, more accurate IMO.

Oh the gold dots I shoot in it blossom to about 7/8" in diameter.

Its beautifull too.

LOL

Carry a .45 because the .50 would get me looks from women everywhere when carrying IWB. I would of course have to carry it in the front.

I would. Just let me get some body armor. I'll put on a vest and as long as there are 3 people to check and make sure the shooter is aiming for the vest before they can shoot I would do it. After I check my broken ribs. "Eh thats too weak hit me with the .45." After I wake up from that then we'll have the proof. Did I mention I tend to make dumb decisions when it comes to testing out stuff, like tasers, pepperspray, etc. I've been zapped and sprayed. Neither was fun.
