Put some mepro's on my XD last night...
I did... I replaced the factory sights in my bitone XD9 with meprolights.
What I read about the front sight being nearly impossible to remove is no joke. I was ready for trouble and had a brand new set of S&W gun smith punches and a hammer. I used the steel punch since I wasn't concerned about scratching the old sights... I'll keep this short, but I need a new set of punches. I bent the proper punch and deformed several larger ones. Unreal. I can't believe the top of the front sight post didn't break off as I hammered away. Wow. Anyway finally got it off and the rear came off easier. New ones went in fairly easily (considering) and I put some blue loctite on the bottom to make sure they don't move. I saved a bunch of money buying the mepros myself and the s&w punch set was only 10 bucks (should have bought two, lol) so I'm still way ahead of sending it off. I'm glad my XD is bitone because if it wasn't I'd have done some damage to the finish. Good news is the mepros look SWEET and I wasn't without my favorite carry gun for the extended time of sending it off.

Close up pics of the sideview? I want to see how far off the slide they hover.

Glad you were able to get it done with no damage to the slide.
