The 3 year old little girl that wandered through the gate to the swimming pool. Babysitter finds her after twenty minutes face down in the swimming pool. Or the one about grandpa leaving his handgun cocked and locked in the magazine rack next to his recliner, and the 6 year old grandson that found it. Or, then there are the cases of straight up physical abuse. I bless her every day for being strong enough to work around these kids, as many of them pass away on her shift, or maybe she comes back to work after being off, and finding out that one of "her kids" died during the night.

Anyhow, the moral of my story is that it is hard enough to hear about the cancer cases and natural causes, but it is a thousand times worse to hear about the NEGLIGENT, IDIOT parents that could have prevented it.

Oh, I would also like to add that I respect her even more for the fact that she does not hate guns. If anyone would have the right to be skeptical of guns, it would be her. She sees children shot on a frequent basis. She has no problems with guns, and only a problem with the people that mis-use them. Talk about a qualified, rational woman.

If you do not have kids...why in the world would you EVER go to Cici's Pizza? Thats like going to Chucky Cheese if you don't have kids...again...why?

Hell, I have a kid and even my daughter says no to Cici's Pizza. She has had it drilled into her head to behave at a restaurant and not be obnoxious or loud. At age 10, we can take her just about anywhere and she does not act like a monkey. Thats just how we like it.

Yes, nothing annoys me more than parents that let their kids do practically anyting at a restaurant. Even if it is a fast food joint - some let their kids do practically anything this side of urinating on the floor. Running around, screaming, throwing things...with some parents..anything goes. My Dad would have fried us alive if my brother and I acted like some of todays kids at any restaurant or store.

My in-laws are in that category, so we avoid going out to eat with them because my 10 year old daughter picks up VERY bad habits from thier kids at any restaurant. It is unbelieveable how bad my nieces and nephews act at restaurants and how little their parents keep them in line. One of the many rubs I have with my in-laws.

There NO reason why kids have to act like they do in stores or restaurants...parents like that ought to be horse-whipped for being so inconsiderate. Usually, the parents are talking with other parents, drinking or on their cellphones or PDAs and are totally clueless as to how their chimp-like children are acting. If you say anything to them, they look at you as if YOU are the problem.

Another example of how manners are going away in our society. Sad..but very true.

The Doctor my wife works for had a patient in his waiting room that brought her three kids, the kids were running around screaming and hollaring and putting hand prints on the windows and they eventually started throwing candy wrappers and knocking down chairs. The Doctor got *pissed* to put it mildly, he walked out to the waiting room and in front of all the patients he yelled at the mom, "This is not a zoo, this is a place of business! If you won't control your own children ask the receptionist for a referral and go destroy someone else's office!" ....... silence followed... then teary eyed woman and the zoo animals got up and left. It was hilarious!!!!

This is not something that happens only in lower income areas as seems to be what some have implied in their posts.

I was on a ride along with a buddy of mine in a very well to do part of the Bay area.
There was a call of a 911 hangup from a child at a pay phone. As we were en route the dispatcher tried calling back, but the kid would pick it up and hang up the phone. We went there at light speed, due to it being a child. When we got to the location of the pay phone we saw a boy about 9 years old standing next to the phone and another child running around. Their parents were sitting in front of Starbuks chatting away while ignoring their kids.

Some folks even in wealthy areas seem oblivious as to what their kids are doing. Even when they are in front of them. My friend got a bit upset and shared his opinion about their parenting skills.

I went to Cici's because it was within 2 minutes of the house and I wanted something quick and easy. Excuse the hell out of me for going there. I won't do it anymore and I wont complain about it if I do. Damn.....

There is a coach in my area in trouble today because he expects discipline from his players and a couple little johnny's ran home and whined to mama. He must have threatened their self-esteem.
Maybe there is hope. I coached basketball at the Salvation Army for 4 years. Out team was by far the most disciplined, maybe the only with any discipline at all, in the entire organization. I can't tell you how many parents and other coaches came up to me wishing they could get their kids to act the way my players did. They weren't so happy when I told them how to achieve that. In those 4 years I only had one family that ever complained about it, and after I told them where the door was if they didn't like it I never heard another word. Several of my players thought I was too hard on them, but after playing on the school team for a coach that didn't give a damn this year they all wish they had the discipline I gave them. Too bad they don't know how to hold themselves to the standards I held them too. By the 4th year there were players and parents both wanting to be on our team because of how our players acted. That tells me that parents want their kids to act right, they just don't want to be the one to make them. They are too busy being a friend to be a parent.

It is still the responsibility of the parents. Until the child is 18, it is up to the parent to “parent” their children. I have two, both boys, 10 and 6. Handful? Yep, Get into trouble Yep. Do I expect a certain amount of trouble from them? Yep…they are out playing and doing things, rather than playing X-box all day. Have they chased the wife around with large bull frogs from the lake? Yep… BUT, when we are in public, especially at a restaurant, they both know what behavior is expected of them. It is the way I was brought up and hopefully, that is how my kids will be raised.

A year or so ago, the four of us went to a nice steak house for dinner. There were two kids running around like maniacs, climbing the river rock fireplace, and generally making the dinner unenjoyable for all of us. The owner/chef came out and politely asked the parents to restrain their kids….the mother went off that they were paying customers and that the kids could do what ever they wanted. The owner then told them that they were no longer customers and that they were to leave. The mother went ape-poop and started cussing, yelling about law suits, and saying that they would never come back to this place again, and would tell all of their friends not to come there. The owners reply: “If your friends behave like you, I do not want them here either.” As they got up to leave, the dining room erupted in applause….the “mother” turned red and flew out the door. Afterwards, my 9 year old turned to my wife and said” I’m glad they left…those kids really were bugging me”…..wife and I lost it at that point.

Oh...I was not ragging on you for doing it. I just thought it was well known that Cici's was a total zoo.

True, it does not HAVE to be that way...but it is what it is.

Cici's might be good birth control for some people - I have a kid and even we won't go in there...LOL.

I am having a bad day dealing with a mortgage company for a client and I am not happy. Neither is my hand that I repeatedly struck the wall with. Of course we don't have sheetrock, its wood.

Sorry
