I hear ya. Chalk that one up to pop culture.
But you do have an option...just stay away from places that are "Family Friendly". You will be amazed by the power of the consumer.

Just one more reason not to go to CiCi's or the buffet line. As for camp run a muck kids, my wife has a way of glaring at both the kids & parents and she will say what ever needs to be said. Sometimes I am embarrassed by her but she always gets results. Most of the time it's the kids who are in total shock that someone would actually dare to tell them to behave.
It's probably the first time someone has actually done it.

Then they run over and hug mom's leg. Maybe if mom gets tired of having her little brat hang off of her like a leg tumor she will teach her kid common courtesy. One can only hope.

In the end, life is too short for bad pizza, bad wine and bad parental units.
Sometimes it's better to have your pizza delivered or upgrade your eating establishments. Anywhere kids eat free is a license to run a muck. Part of the problem is places like McDonalds have these nice little playgrounds for the kids. You can't blame them for thinking that eating out = play time.

Like you, I don't blame the kids - I blame the parents but if you eat bad CiCI's pizza you have to expect it going in.

Cici's really isn't that cheap when you pay for 2 Adults and 3 kids.

I would rather take my kids to a very nice, local Irish PUB. Not a bar, but a nice neighborhood pub. No smoking. All adults dressed in polos and khakis. Kids welcome up until 9 p.m. They even have a kids menu. We sit down, enjoy the hardwood floors and trim. The kids play with the video game machines. We avoid the trash people that hang at the buffets. I can have a single, ice cold Microbrew beer, eat quality food. I relax a lot more than if I were at the Cici's joint.

At the end, we get better food, better atmosphere, mingle with better people and end up paying 10 or 15 more bucks. We support a LOCAL pub owner. Big deal. It is worth it.

It is everywhere. I see these idiot soccer moms all over the place letting little johnny freely annoy everyone. And they dare not lay a hand on them, don't want to stifle their free expression. Ofcourse when they get older being an @sshole and then then have it handed to them, or wind up in prison it will be society's fault. There is a coach in my area in trouble today because he expects discipline from his players and a couple little johnny's ran home and whined to mama. He must have threatened their self-esteem.

Your first mistake is going to Cici's. It's like going to chucky cheeze and expecting well behaved children there. Try something better next time and good luck

I love my job...

When I see kids acting out and I just can't stand it anymore (especially when there is a safety issue), I just walk over and tell the child to stop doing XXX becouse *it's not safe, it is impolite, etc*. If a parent looks at me funny I just say, "Sorry, I am a childcare provider. It is instinct for me to talk to a child who is getting out of control if no one else is stepping up to do it. Sorry about that, I will leave you to parent. **Big Smile**

I LOVE IT!

You are nowhere as bad as my female friend who is a Nurse Practitioner in a Children's Hospital trauma ward.

When she sees a kid standing up in a shopping cart in a grocery store, and the parents are ignoring them, she politely seats the child. She turns to the parent and says "Your child will make a lovely organ donor."

I guess the callousness comes from many years of comforting children as they pass away. She has no tolerance for negligent parents, as she sees daily what happens as a result of.

I never expected Cici's to be a 5 star experience, but I do expect people to have some common courtesy and consideration for others. There is no excuse for letting kids run wild, especially when it means bumping into me at my table.

Tell her I'm in love would you please?

I dunno, my older brother and sist got spanked, and my parents mellowed with age, I got spanked maybe 6 or 7 times, but I was a really well-behaved independant kid. Biggest problem my family ever had (happened 10+ times) was they would think I was in the other car, and I was in neither, and I'd walk the 5 miles home, and I knew shortcuts and thus they couldn't find me. I've never had a curfew, I didn't drink before I got to college, never did drugs, and I'm the person people call when the SHTF at 4 am and they ask for help. Of course my little sister got spanked twice, and was wiley, and she's having trouble just graduating from HS. (just cause your dyslexic, doesn't meann you can't pass HS, maybe not college, but HS? come on)
