Exactly what happened to my sister's beagle. She (the beagle) couldn't poop. It was definitely top 5 material for worst smell ever. If you can stomach the smell, do it yourself. If not, it will be money well spent. Just leave the dog outside for a day or two to "air out" until it passes.

Apparently the stuff is as toxic to your nose as it is for the dogs insides.
Sphinctor factor squeeses it when it gets big.

This is the smell dogs are looking for when they smell each other's butt.

The easiest way to fix this is to take him to a GOOD groomer. They should massage the anal glands when giving him a bath, thus relieving the pressure on his arse.

Hell, he might even stop dragging his butt across the carpet.

Did the vet not catch this?? If not, you might look for another vet.

His butt isnt swollen or anything , but he just exspelled a bunch when he was mad/pissed off at everyone for bringing him to the vet . There are no signs to tell you that he has this except when he is mad or scared

if its only 13 bucks definately do a walk in and let the vet do it, its not worth chaning your cloths, taking a shower, spraying ass smell all over, and risk getting the smell on your hands all day. VOMIT.

Anal glands and dingleberries are the only bad things about dogs. I am getting a boxer so he wont get dingleberries being a short hair, swollen anal glands i am not looking forward to.

This is dog musk, some just let it loose when scared. Yes its from the anal glands. All members of the k9 family ( including foxes) have them.

I once had a dog that used to have his glands explode on him- just like that-not due to fear. I had to give him "butt baths" alot LOL- poor guy was in the tub all the time!
