How often do you clean your XD?
I clean my XD every other week or every time I shoot it.

After every trip to the range, or whenever possible. I have no problem letting it sit for a while if I don't have time to clean.
I use Hoppes "Elite" cleaner and Hoppes Dri-Lube. Not happy with the Dri-Lube...leaves residue and is no good for giving the gun a wipe down at the end. |

I clean every week (after going shooting). Field strip it, swab hops down the barrel and set aside. Use break free on all the other parts untill I can wipe with a rag and have it come up clean. then I run a bore snake threw the barrel. then i put some reem (or ream, I dont have it infront of me) oil on the contact points and put it back to gether.

I use "slide" super grease for all the contact points on my xd. works great just don't use too much.

As stated in a number of posts I'm kind of anal about this and clean it after every time I shoot.
I'm even more anal about my AR-15 which has a nearly match barrel and I've been known to clean it several times in one day. But, if I'm not using it I don't think you need to clean it but a couple times a year and then it's more to keep a little oil on the metal for corosion prevention. Brian |

I used to clean my XD after each time I went to the range, but know its more like every other time I go. I dont think you need to clean it after everytime you shoot unless you are shooting 3 or 4 hundred rounds at a time. I usually dont shoot more than 150 at a time.

I've put 250 rounds through mine since January and haven't cleaned it.
Is this wrong?
