Snake shot?

In all my years of shooting have never had the need for it until now. Recently moved into a place with a pond out back...great for early morning fishing....but water moccasins galore. Will snake shot hurt a pistol barrel?

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks

Using the 22 Single-Six, or XD is better than tugging along the 12 gauge.

i found myself wishing for some this morning. i was getting ready for work and my kids ran in the house telling me there was a big round grey snake in the neighbors yard. i went out to check on it and realized it would be hard to hit a moving snake with a .38 i went back in and asked if they were talking about the big 'limb' snake, it was a branch thank goodness!

My father-in-law uses .22 snake shot to scare off javelina that get into his garbage; cycles just fine.

Not true, It's been out for a while. Might be hard to find one, people buy em up quick from what I've heard.

A friend of mine uses the hell out of what he calls "rat shot" in his .38 snubby. He's been shootin' up rats/mice for the last few years, and no problems.

Didn't cycle in my 9mm, but my .40 and .45 worked just fine. In fact, the .45 ACP patterns better than most anything short of a 12 gauge.
