Is there a local gun owners forum in your area? We have 1 in Tennessee & stuff sells like hot cakes on it. Try This

As stated in the other threads on this gun sale ....

#1 Face to Face
#2 Trading Post here
#3 GunsAmerica.com or GunBroker.com
#4 Consignment sale if offered by local gun shop
#5 Cash sale / pawn to local shop.

That's about it as far as your opinions go. If you want a specific price, you may have to wait for the right buyer to come along. I've seen a lot of guns sit in the used/consignment cases of my local shops for weeks before moving - if they move at all.

Check out the sheer number of expiring "zero bid" options on GunsAmerica and GunBroker ever day. A lot of guns go unsold until the price is right or the right person looking for a specific gun comes along. Unfortunately, anyone who wants an XD-9 Service in black does not have to look very far to find one.

If you do go with GunsAmerica or GunBroker, you need to let you dad take over this sale from the beginning. Since you cannot sell the gun due to being under 21, you need to let him handle the sale so that you don't scare anyone off by making the deal seem odd.

My offer still stands

I think the problem with asking for $435 shipped is that you can (or at least I can...) get one new for $450. After paying the FFL fees and such, I'd actually be paying more for a used gun over a new one.

Just FYI.

+1. I completely agree.

For me at lease, I will only purchase a used item if I can get it for 50% new $, or it is an impossible find. Otherwise, why take the risk? I would just buy new.

$400 is a lot for a used item that sells new for $500 tops. No matter how used, it's still used IMHO.

Advertise it as having survived a tornado.

"Gun for sale. Helped me survive certain death during close brush with tornado. Has only had 300 rounds put through it. Perfect shape, except for fecal stains on slide from where I crapped myself as tornado ripped house apart around me while I was posting about it on the Intarnets."

Run an ad on Glocktalk's "Firearms for Sale" forum. There's a lot of activity on that forum. I don't care much for the rest of Glocktalk, but the "For Sale" forum is pretty decent.
