Grand theft sues Chicago

I knew and predicted this would happen in another thread. The makers of Grand Theft Auto are suing the Chicago Transit Authority for pulling it's ads that it paid over $300,000 for on CTA buses and train stations.
Of course you can't have that kind of violent video game advertised on city buses when chicago is so anti-gun and anti-crime... come on! This is such a peaceful city, why on earth would they even consider blemishing it's image with such mindless violence like a video game? In the same vane, they should remove ALL the news on every channel because all it does is show the violence that plagues the city, day after day. Maybe if we close our eyes and think of pretty colors and beautiful meadows, this will all go away...

Be very glad YOU don't live here...
reporting behind enemy lines....
Tony...

The City of Chicago government is out of touch with reality and should be douched out. Starting with Dickface Daley.

Another report from the county of Crook in the Peoples Republic of Illinois;

Yes Virginia, it IS really that bad. Richie Daley is a dedicated gun hater and he has the political muscle to project his political power outside of "Beirut on the Lake". The local Taliban (Democrat party of Crook County) is in absolute control of government and regularly trashes the 2nd. amendment while the county board president (a/k/a "Urkel") is busy putting friends and relatives into $1K+ gummint jobs.

This place makes Soddom & Gomorrah look like Walt Disney World!

Fire and Brimstone, but I hope God allows us not to be turned to salt pillars while enjoying the fireworks

Sounds like a straight forward case... GTA had a contract for advertisement and paid money, Chicago broke the contract by taking the money and then pulling the ads.

Either give back the money or put the ads back up...

I'd be very surprised (and greatly concerned) if the courts didn't rule in favor of GTA.

Your missing the most important issue. Sure 300k awarded upfront, then they claim they had already alocated the resources for the region, and it was too late to aquire new contracts, as of which they were prevented from advertising in the city, thats censorship and massive loss in revenue. They can claim that not having enough ads cost them revenue. And punitive damages for infringement on the freedom of speech.

From what I can tell, the ads were on the city buses, then the city pulled em'. Stupid move for taking the advertising money in the first place, stupid move for advertising the product, stupid move for pulling the ads.

My guess is one of Daley's stupid relatives, who probably has the position for marketing on CTA buses, is probably stupidly claiming ignorance on the whole subject. Stupid....

Sounds about right... maybe that's a good way to get a decent mayor into Chicago, bankrupt it and a Republican will step up to clean up the mess.

Good luck finding one in Chicago that will run against Mayor Daley and have a chance of winning.

Remember the two sayings we have here - "Vote Early - Vote Often" and "You will never make it as a Democratic Ward Committeeman unless you can get 104% of your Ward to vote!"
