Even with Harry
Even with Harry Reid it is not hard to get a CCW in Nevada. Until Recently Nevada did not honor permits from other states even though those states gave that courtesy to Nevadans. I would support a permit that allows carry in all 49 states and maybe even California.

Here's hoping - I'm not holding my breath though.
Next step would be carry laws that are consistent across the country. edit: why is this in the 45 discussion?

lol you noticed that too... I would like to see that bill passed also, but with all the crap that has happened in the last year with people getting shot and robbed etc. I doubt they will pass any bills making it easier for CCW people to travel and get around. I hate having to go on vacation and read up on the states laws before I go to see if I can carry of not. I won't hold my breath, but here's hoping!

Seriously. I have read tons about my local laws and will carry comfortably. It is tough to get that peace of mind when going somewhere else.

As a proud holder of a Utah state Concealed Firearms Permit, I have to say... this bill makes me uneasy.
It sets a nasty precedent: The precedent that you can legislate your stance on the issue of armament. Do I like the idea of being able to carry anywhere? Yes. But when the disarmers out there see this, they're going to push back. And hard. They're going to start assuming that it's the federal government's job to nit-pick every little gun-related detail. I want laws to remain small and local. If we set the precedent that the Feds can tell us how/when to carry, things start getting dicey. When left to the states, you still have the option to leave. When gun-laws --- even happy ones like these --- are imposed across the whole Union, we shift away from the formula of self-government and start telling everyone else that we know what's best for them. I would love legislation that repealed restrictions. But imposing new laws on people doesn't rest well with me. I'm just a state rights kind of guy. Oh, and yes, I wish California, New York, Illinois, and New Jersey would all just grow up and treat its citizens like living human beings.
