Gun ban extremists and others who oppose the right of self defense are fond of saying that when a person is in danger, the best thing to do is to call 911 and let the police take care of it.
But what happens when you dial 911 and the police tell you to wait...and wait...and wait?
One Columbus-area business owner was wise enough to have made his own plans for that very eventuality...
On Thursday, April 17, a drive-thru carryout owner and Concealed Handgun License (CHL)-holder was investigating why his security alarm went off after just having closed up for the night when he was surprised by an intruder who had been hiding in his store. The entire confrontation that followed was caught on tape.

Wow. The first time the perp advanced on me like that there would have been shots fired and a man down.

Saw the video..how stupid you have to be to continually disobey orders when there's a gun pointed at you. This guy was just looking for trouble.

What do you do when you have an unarmed idiot walking towards you, ignoring your warnings? If you shoot him, you killed an unarmed man and you go to jail, but if you don't and stay there waiting, he may come after you and try to grab that same gun you're holding.

This is why I believe it's better to have rubber bullets or a teaser or something you won't hesitate to use on a suspect without much hesitation. That way you can neutralize him in a second and ask questions later.

The law in Oregon where I live states that if you feel threatened you can use deadly force. Once I tell him to get down and he continues to move towards me I can use deadly force.

One should be be required to accept bodily harm before they defend themselves or others.

Bad guys made a choice to do things that should have or can have a high probability of them getting injured or killed.

If you are somewhere you should not be FOR ANY REASON and someone points a gun at you and tells you to get down it would behoove you to obey that person.

Rubber bullets can kill at short ranges. Tasers only work if you manage to get both barbs into someone. And a frontal shot with a Taser can lead to the loss of an eye. Also people who have certain medical conditions or are on some drugs stand a very good chance of death when Tasered.

Citizens are not Law Enforcement Officers. And should not be required to carry a Taser in addition to a Weapon. I actually feel sorry for the local PD. They have so much crap hanging off their body that it's amazing that in a stressful situation they can actually manage to grab the right piece of gear.

IMHO a LEO should have two things. A striking weapon and a fire arm. If you are too stupid to obey the officer then you either get beat down as a reminder to obey the officer or you get shot.

I'm very impressed with the restraint of that store owner. I was thinking when the intruder got real close, that I'd be hard-pressed not to shoot him. LEO's basically confirmed that my thoughts were about right in the second video.

Seriously! If it were me, most people out-weigh me; I don't wanna get caught in a grapple where my weapon may be lost. It's basically MANDATORY for me to shoot someone before they get that close.

And that self-righteous dispatcher needs a lucid thought enema.

I agree with you there. Tazers are so finicky and an LEO's life is just as much worth protecting as anybody's; he needs a weapon that will cause immediate incapacitation. No pepper spray, no delicate tayz0rz, just MAKEFALLDOWN!

Tazer will do just that: incapacitate the target. I remmember watching a video how they tazed some big muscled guy (some martial arts dude). He could take direct punches to his body and still standin like nothing happened, but when they tazed them, he was down like a baby.

Do not underestimate tazers. They're very helpful in situations when you have an unarmed but problematic perp.
