Obama on D.C. Gun Ban: 'I don't like taking a stand on pending cases.'

Quote:
S-T: As a state legislator, you voted against a bill which would let people with orders of protection [against others] carry guns and another that would have barred municipalities from punishing people who kept guns in their homes. Why?
B.O.: I felt that [the first one] was a precedent for conceal-and-carry laws. There has not been any evidence that allowing people to carry a concealed weapon is going to make anybody safer. [The second one] is relevant to the D.C. handgun issue. I wanted to preserve the right of local communities to enforce local ordinances and this would have overturned municipalities being able to enforce their own ordinances. We can argue about whether the ordinances work or not. But I wanted to make sure that local communities were recognized as having a right to regulate firearms.
S-T: But you don't want to take a stand on the D.C. gun-ban law?
B.O.: I don't like taking a stand on pending cases.

We need more laws to protect these three rights. Ban guns in schools, it obviously works.

He's far from an idiot. He's one of the most amazing speakers that I've ever heard. He's the only person who can say "I believe in change!" and you wonder change to what and he'll say "I believe in restoring America to hope!" and everybody loves him.

The flipside to his statement is there is clearly no evidence that shows concealed carry has proven to show any danger to the public.

Hitler was an amazing public speaker as well.

Food for thought!

True, he is no martin Luther king either. Hitler was a good speaker, very passionate, I don’t speak German on bit, but you sure could tell he was passionate and had people all worked up in a hurry. I don’t think obama is even that great of a speaker, unless when folks say that they mean in the disparaging he speaks so well for a black sorta way. Is he really a good speaker? I think the guy is a yawn fest for the most part except when he gets me riled up with his ever obvious shoot America in the foot ideas. Maybe great speaker translates to: total socialist, communist at heart waiting to come out, love fest for other commies who can’t believe such a commie made it so far in the election process. If that mean good speaker then yes he is a good speaker.

He is a well rehearsed talking head, he doesn’t write his own speeches, it’s not like the stuff he says is off the cuff, from his heart of hearts, its well rehearsed generalities to tug at the heart strings of losers and malcontents that he will literally give them a better life by taking away from others. It’s the message people love, and the fact they can vote for a black doesn’t hurt either. That’s a real badge of honor for allot of folks, even though if you talked to them about other stuff we are not supposed to notice color, but not voting for obama is racist also. Go figure. These are the kind of folks electing the turd; no wonder they think he is so great. They are borderline retards and can’t even follow their own mantras.
