You just have to love your kids at times...
So, my wife was teaching our 6yo (homeschool) his new 2nd Grade Science (we also do it year round). The subject was the weather and the changing of the seasons. So, at the start of this, she asks him what the seasons are..

My wife insisted that there were 4 seasons, so I helped him out a bit and kept with the theme.. Turkey Season, Fishing Season, Bow Season, Rifle Season.
These he understands.Our real seasons are lots of snow and cold, some snow and cold. Summer is only a few weeks anyway.
