I can't speak for the OP, but the less the .gov knows about me, my business, and my belongings, the better.

indeed. the more they know the more they will want to control - like guns. the gun haters would love canadian or UK style control.

The way it works here in Virginia is that the gun is shipped to the local dealer who will call you when it arrives. You get to inspect it before deciding to take ownership. If it passes your inspection, you would then fill out the Federal and state forms. Here in VA we have instant background checks. Once you pass the background check, you pay for the gun and the federal forms are submitted by your local dealer, thus linking you to the gun. If you ever resell it, I would do it through a dealer who will give you documentation that the gun with that serial number is no longer in your possesion. This is what I have been told and have not bought a gun over the Internet myself. Do you know what to look for when buying a used auto pistol?
May I ask why you want to take the big risk of buying a used gun sight unseen which may have undisclosed problems? To save $50? I always buy my guns locally and support my local gun shops. It is better for all of us if we help keep our local gun shiops open. Last edited by Wild Rice; 04-25-2008 at 03:52 PM. |
