I'm gonna join you man cause I need to get off my arse too.... I stopped caring when I got married but now I'm paying for it. Tomorrow is the first step for me, I'll be clearing out one of the bedrooms for a new bowflex and will probably get a trainer for my bike. 35 lbs to lose and counting... (down) hopefully.

well, i'm sad to say i lapsed a bit during finals week, but overall i'm down about 4 pounds overall

I know where you are coming from. Promotion to desk job and more pay in the past 3 yrs has allowed bad physical condition to sneak up on me as well. Glad to here you have started, I just started back and only walking the few blocks, will work my way up to jogging.

A few years back there was a show on PBS called Frontier House. One of the obnoxious guys on there was really worried about his weight after a little while on the project. They eventually let him see the "show doctor" I guess and they talked about how he was actually the correct weight and all for a person his size. It really made me think that the only true way to get in shape is a total life change. Total change in eating, total change in activity, total change of mind. Kinda one of the reasons I want to get out of town and move to the country. Work outside every day and primarly eat only what I can produce myself. Not sure I have the discipline to do it as we live now.

I bought an elliptical machine for the home because I hate having to drive to the gym, waiting for a machine, and feel someone's sweat when you go to use it. I already have a home weight machine, and between the two its fantastic. I do a half hour every day for five days on the elliptical, and I work chest, tri, bi, and abs, low weight (25lbs) five sets, 20 reps each, not trying to bulk, just keep definition, and firm.

Once you get into a routine, its becomes like a habit, and you don't want to miss a day. There are times I get lazy and don't want to work out, but I don't beat myself up over it, and I find I am looking forward to the next workout.
