Not only that but all kinds of things were faked on his show!

Like -I read they would rub flour on store bought meat to make it look rotten...And then he (Bear Grylls) would pretend to eat a dead animal or something!!!
LAME!!!

I'll have to find the story.

how about where he walked up on "wild horses" and made a gras rope to try to ride them. I about laughed my ass off the sofa. Plus i think he has incindeary device about half the time he makes fire.

More to the point of the thread my sisters highschool boyfirend served on the time bandit for over 2 years around 2000-2003, he is a real adventurer odd guy, then he went to asia for a few years, now he raises sheep and goats in vermont, or newhampsire. Its not all for show, it might be amplified, edited etc ... but do you want to see them sleep or eat breakfast etc? The waves, ice and danger elements are all real as any show on tv. No doubt there is the ever present "will they finish" drama like on say Orange county choppers they have to have the classic formula to compell you to watch, you need to know the folks personally, the danger, element of suprise is how much crab, can they finish thats a show. Other wise it is a science class boring documentry.

Survival means continuing to live no matter what. Running away is not cowardly — it is prudent. It may go against the grain of the macho types out there, but protection of your family IS YOUR ONLY DUTY.
