No. I usually shift between 2-3k. The guy at the dealership said the car would last forever if I did that.

I was passing a guy and thats how I found out the thing slips. It could have been like this for months and I wouldn't know because I never drive it hard.

I think maybe I messed it up because I sometimes shift from 2nd to 5th (like in a 35-40mph area). That puts the RPM's in 5th at around 1500 and then it just slowly accelerates to whatever speed I want to go. I don't mash the gas, I just let it accelerate naturally. Maybe I OVERSHIFTED too much... could that hurt it?

to the OP. Unless the parts used were inferior parts, I believe that your clutch skills may be lacking a little bit. Not meant to be a throw down on your skills, just that some people are inherently harder on clutches than others.
If they had not turned the flywheel it could cause chatter on engagement, but not high rpm slip.

OK. Well... what should I do... 1k to fix it and try to make it last for another 1.5 years that I have to pay it off or trade it in and maybe get 1.5k more than what I owe tops and buy another car for around 11k and get another 5 year loan for around 225-250/mo?

I hate cars but I hate dealers more.
