Where to shoot in AZ?

Can any AZ guys chime in on good places to shoot just out in the desert? I've been to a few of the indoor/outdoor ranges here, and while they are great and all, I'm just looking for something a little more open. I really can't think off the top of my head of any places where it's just fine to go and pop off some rounds (without driving way north to hunting areas).

Phoenix, shooting

If you're in the Phoenix area, the other night on TV they were talking about going north on I-17 to Table Mesa road. Just don't foget to clean up after yourself when you leave.

Where to shoot in AZ?

Isn't AZ like 40 trillion square miles of nothing but sand and tumbleweeds?

Happy Plinkin'!

I'll have to go check out table mesa road. Thanks.

And yeah, there is like 230932482309 million miles of desert and open space, however lots of it is indian reservation or park area and you can't shoot there.
