I usually take high quality protein (EAS) that has whey, soy, and casein protein 30 min before work out and right after I finish at the gym. The blend of protein has different metabolizing rates and creates a "timed" release, that way your body will absorb the protein, not just overload and pass it on through.
So protein and plenty of water and you'll be good to go. You won't bulk as fast as you would with creatine, but who knows long term affects of that stuff. nateroach

Elite Whey Protien is what I use. Make sure all you're vitamins are all natural, they obsorb into your body way better than laboratory vitamins, they do cost extra (like organic food) but it's worth it. Also distilled water (with adding your own minerals) is good better for you too, you'd be amazed at all the things that come out of your tap (even with a filter) and alot of the bottled waters are just filtered tap water so watch out for those. If you do buy bottled water you'll want to look for reverse osmosis.

after the multivitamin in the morning, i eat a decent amount of oatmeal about 2 hours before i workout. then i load up on water 30 mins before(and throughout) the workout and right after, i take a small amount of protein. shortly after that, i replenish my body with carbs, ect. with a healthy meal. of course, ever since my crazy month of March, i havnt gotten back into my routine. i really need to get back on it! pool/beach/lake time is JUST AROUND THE BEND!
