I vary between OC and CC depending on how I'm dressed, where I'm going, why I'm there, etc... I don't know what it's like where you guy's live, but I get almost NO reaction to OC around here. Occasionally I'll get a stare from a little kid (wow a gun!), but that's about it. There are only two times that I can think of that someone has said anything to me about it. The first time I was dressed in a slacks and a white button up, getting some lunch at subway and the girl making my food asked if I was a police officer. I said "no". She gave me a confused look and said "So, your just some guy with a gun?" "Pretty much." She smiled, shrugged and finishe making my sandwich. The second time, I was asked to pay for my stuff and leave while buying some target ammo at Gander Mountain. The guy said that there was a sign saying that I couldn't OC... There isn't.

oh and TOTP

Some interesting points of both sides are made here. CCW and Open Carry Question - PoliceWorld.net Forums if I lived in Montana or some other gun loving place where there isn't any crime anyways I'd OC but other than that I'll CCW.

Jersey doesn't see the right of anything. I can't even tint all my windows on my car so Jersey doesn't count.

I dont know where you guys live but try that in a not so nice area and see what happens.
-1. We do not live in the jungle. BG allways are looking for EASY and speedy targets, there is not plenty of cases when you receive a bullet on the middle of the city and just after take your money and gun.

If we are talking about organized criminals, maybe, but OC a Gun, As i don´t think is neccessary most of the time, I guess that it raise a warning to those are willing to take easy your peace.

Finally, a gun needs an owner, we do usually OC with a bullet up, so if you put things easy, wearing in your back and allowing people to reach you, then you can help BG to do their best with your toy.

I understood maybe ever other point you were trying to make. I still stand by my statement. Yes you may scare off the cowards but those determined hardened criminals will bury you for your piece and you'll never see it coming. you give away your tactical advantage, the element of surprise in hopes of gaining a deterrent.

I have been open carrying almost everywhere but work the last 2 weeks and I love it! Some circumstances, of course, call for CC (like when I am taking pictures at a wedding or something), but if it is just going to dinner or shopping or running other errands, OC it is! Good luck with your experiment! You will find that the vast majority of people will never even see it, the few who see it don't say anything (or call the cops) and most of those that say something will be curious as to what you are carrying, why you are carrying, or what the state laws are about OC.

A strong vote in favor of OpenCarry.org! As you may have discovered already, there are many active people in PA.

There is no law against OC in Delaware. I saw a guy come out of Wal*Mart this weekend with a large hunting knife and a revolver on his side. I didn't think Wal*Mart would allow that. Previous AGs of DE, have said they would have OC prosecuted. There is a law against scaring the public, I forget exactly what it's called. I'm not sure how the current AG Biden (Joe Biden's son) feels.

I know of one person who open carries in Delaware....from what I know, he has been able to do so without incident.

Wal-Mart's corporate policy is to allow whatever State law allows. If your state is OC, so are the Wally Worlds in your state. If the local manager say otherwise, it is nice to have the name and number of the district manager to hand to him as you leave. The district manager out in these parts has gotten several calls about this in the last few months, so hopefully he is getting the word out.
