I agree it's not the best place to put the lock. I would think they could lock the top of the holster somehow so you didn't have the lock around the trigger..

Because guns have been known to jump from their holsters and go on shooting rampages when the owner is not present. Friggin' guns. I hate when they do that.

So..... the same pilot who is trusted with hundreds of lives (possibly thousands more on the ground as well) can't be trusted to carry a weapon without a frigging padlock on it? THROUGH THE TRIGGER GUARD?!?!? It's not like they got Barney Fife up there flying that thing.
