alcohol and ccw??

here in colorado you cannot consume any alcohol and carry, none. which is a good rule I think, I was just wondering if there are any states that allow this? maybe to the point of .08 like driving or something?

I am not sure if it is the law here or not... but my own personal policy is not mixing alcohol and firearms.

In Idaho it's not illegal. The law says something to the effect of not being intoxicated and carrying. May not be illegal, but god forbid you use your weapon the prosicutor will have a field day with that.

It is just WRONG to MIX the two together. Just like buzz driving. Booze and guns will end up with someone getting hurt or DEAD.
If you want to drink. That is fine and dandy. But first unload, and secure the guns out of everyones reach. Then get hammered if you want.

Would you drive drunk? Would you operate heavy machinery drunk? Would you trust someone with a firearm if they were drinking? if you answered no to any of those questions, then you have your answer. Whether its illegal or not, its a bad idea..

I'm partial to texting while shooting, I don't see any harm in it.

In Tx, you can not be intoxicated and there is no criteria for when that is like the DWI test. It's totally up to the cop's opinion if you are intoxicated. So it could be .00000000000000001 if you get the wrong cop.

That being said, like the others who have responded, the best policy is not to mix the two. That means no glass of wine at dinner if you want to carry. The life you save may be mine.
