See, theyre making the decision for themselves.. we're not making the decision for them. Nobody told them to join a gang and rape/attack/rob/burglarize. Just because someone served their time in jail doesnt mean theyre rehabilitated, because 9 out of 10 times they aren't, and more often than not, they come out even worse off than before they went in, which is an unfortunate thing, but thats another discussion all together. Every American is entitled to these rights at birth, once they reach a certain age.. says the constitution with some help from the supreme court.. The constitution does not say, nomatter what atrocities against society you commit you shall always have the ability to exercise each right to its full extent.. when youre in jail your rights are diminished.. that is the consequence of committing a crime in this country.. we dont chop your hands off or execute you.. youre rights are simply diminished. i think thats a pretty fair shake. im not saying there should be no discretion as to the felony the person is charged with, as to whether or not they should be able to own/carry weapons, but in the case of this gang member, i am strongly against it.
