Different classes of vehicles, how can you compare $100k+ exotics with production cars like the mustang? No matter, none of those vehicles is faster or more fun than a motorcycle.

I beg to differ, one can survive a crash better with a car. That makes them more fun, you get to enjoy them after the crash. LOL. What do you call a motorcyclist without a helmet? Organ Donor.

Manygunner, which do you drive? The Lambo, the Porsche, or the Ferrari?
What is it about American cars that makes them inherently unreliable?

Seems like a car that could be maintained for less than $300 per year would be considered more reliable than one that cost more than $300 just to tune-up, but maybe I am wrong. sab

I really like how the new Mustangs look. They don't drive all that bad either.

None of which can stand against a McLaren F1, so what's your point? I don't think comparing exotics like the Lambo, Ferarri to American production cars, and then calling the American ones crap is fair. Maybe compare them to American exotics. I'm sure you've heard of a Saleen S7, or perhaps a Shelby Series 1. Don't forget about a Panoz Esperante. Hell, a Corvette ZO6 can hold it's own for being about half the cost of many of these cars.

Alrite...Back ON topic...The Charger really is in a different class than the Frustang anyways, hence the reason that Daimler Chrysler is bringin the Challenger back, but not for a few more years(if it even happens). The Charger is more of a family oriented car, whereas the Mustang is one of the last "old" sports cars left. Yeah, the Charger has alotta power LIKE a sports car, but that doesn't make it a sports car.

Lambo's, Ferrari's, and Porshce's are all beyond overpriced. The maintenance on them alone costs so much you'd be able to buy 2 American sports cars and still have money left over to maintain them and keep em reliable. But I guess if you are a rich business man w/ nothing better to spend yer million's of dollar's on, then go ahead and buy one.

it all comes down to power to weight... biggest factor

only big differences is when ur talking drive train losses and if its a N/a or forced induction car(flatter, beefer curves)
normally
FWD 13-15% loss
RWD 16-18% loss
AWD 20-25% loss

Dodge
4031 lbs
# per HP = 11.86
# per FTlb = 10.34

Ford
3475 lbs
# per HP = 11.58
# per FTlb= 10.86
13.85 - 1/4

GTI
2800 lbs
# per hp = 12.45
# per FTlb = 10.77
13.9 - 1/4

pppffttt
my slow / 1.8L / 28mpg city /daily driver/snow vehicle will hang them

Does it really have the torque to step off the line like a mustang or charger? That quarter mile time seems suspect to me. But if its real, then damn!

Agree. Pics of the new Charger Daytona r/t making my palms itch unlike any other car in year. And I'm a motorcycle guy, so that's saying a lot.
