left thumb
I am knew to the xd. I am right handed, where should my left thumb be located when holding my gun. It seems like its in the way wherever I place it. thanks for the help

Tan, with your right hand on the weapon and your thumb in the groove the most common placement is overlapping your right like this:
![]() Looking at it now that picture is a little misleading and strays from my point but it gets the job done. Imagine your right thumb is under his left.

that photo made it worse, thanks for the reply, should my left thumb be more towards the trigger than my right

It just depends on what is comfortable for you. Usually when I shoot my left thumb over laps my right on the grip. And sometimes I move my left hand up a little bit to where my thumb rests on the takedown lever. Like I said it is all about what feel "right" to you.
