Ok I can deal with Nor-Cal from what I hear its nothing like your southern counter part.

Oh, so you only want the bottom half of Ca. to fall into the ocean unlike most who want the whole state to disappear. Awfully nice of you.

In case you forgot, San Francisco is in N. Ca. and is one of the most anti-gun cities in America. Remember the law they passed (which was overturned) that was supposed to ban guns.

The problems come from the large population areas like Frisco, L.A., etc. and the Chiefs/Sheriffs in those areas are very responsive to the political climate. They tend to oppose ccw except for celebrities and political donors.

I had heard, retired, that there are some counties in California where CCW was effectively "shall issue" as the issuing Sheriff generally applies all applicable permits. Do you know anything about this?

yep, there are lots of pro CCW counties in california. Butte, where i got mine is essentially shall issue.
