In the weeks since I got their DVD I have found out the following:

Their training is some of the best...not THE best.
They have been sued over the homesites not being started...turned out to be a RICO suit.
They have several serious code violations on property...most fire code.
The good Dr. is linked to Scientology.
the good Dr will sue anyone that gets in his way, or suggests that he is a Scientologist.
Several former members have stated that its one big sales pitch from the moment you get there, to the moment you leave.
Part of that might be from the eight million dollar settlement from a lawsuit they lost..
I have found only a couple of mentions of the forced sale of the property by a Judge, (obviously it was overturned) only a couple of mentions of the $320,000 lien on the property by the IRS and the contractor that was hired to bring it up to code, and then was either fired, or quit due to non payment...
There has been at least one death there due to their actions, and apparently they took good care of the family...

All that said, Id say if you are close by, take a course.
If you are like me, and Blackwater is only a couple of hours away, Id go there.

I guess my biggest problem is that if a person throws $180,000 at you for a membership, you CAN build one hell of a nice home for them for that, and have it done in a few months...from what I understand, NO homes have been started YET.

Here is the response I received when asked if the certificates on Ebay were on the up and up and if they were honored by Front Sight:

Some are, some are not.
You have to be careful on the Internet.
Be sure you know who you are purchasing from.
Ignatius

So from this draw your own conclusion. Has anyone out there ever used one of these certificates?

Yes I found this info on Google and the Frontsight website has incident reports most of which where people shooting themselves while holstering. The death was from the repel tower coming down the zip line and seemed to be due to instructor error.

As far as the Scientology business I can't find anything as of yet that does not seem purely superficial. But if anyone can I would really appreciate hearing about it. Out of principal I don't deal with Scientologists and I defiantly don't want to help support one financially.

On another note I have purchased a four day handgun/shotgun/rifle and will be attending as soon as I can take the time off work. I will of course give you guys a full report when I get back.

Worse case scenario: I pick up some good shooting techniques.

I'm going with the $99+$6 (user name: wyldkat or something like that) because the guy's ebay rating is sky high and their are numerous comments regarding the validity of the certs and the prompt delivery. Upon delivery I am going to contact frontsight and have them authenticate it for me. I'll let you know.

Front Sight

This is my first post, but found this site via a Front Sight email.
I attended the 4 Day Handgun Training at the Las Vegas school last month. It was fabulous! All I can say is that if you want #1 training from professional instructors this is the place to go! As a woman carrying a gun, I feel much more comfortable with my XD than I had before going to this course! Now I want to go to the Tactical Course!
