Fiikity Fack Fack F**K!!@# - Update, July 12 -

Well here it is,

I bought an XD9sc from a private seller back in the beginning of the month. I knew right away i wanted it refinished. So I instructed the seller that I wanted it sent it to a popular refinishing company. He wanted a copy of an FFL to send it to the company, even though it wasn't needed by law.

So this company, over the phone, told my seller that they sent an FFL to him. Roger, no problem.

3 weeks later, there is no FFL. My seller tells me that he called them again, and the secretary forgot to send it out. So it now arrives to him, the pistol was shipped yesterday and it is now arrived at the company. The company now tells me they will not be able to get the pistol refinished until the beginning of august. I leaving for out of town to Arizona to teach for July 15 for the rest of the summer.

So I tell the company that I do not want his business and to send the pistol to me immediately after they receive a copy of my FFL.

In an email tonight, I was informed that they sent the FFL over 2 weeks ago as a 'favor' to me.

So while I have no gun (that is paid for already), they are fingerpointing and I really do not have any reason to believe the company since the seller within 2 days of purchasing the package sent me the holster, mags priority email in pristine condition.

So now, I truly do refuse to give my money to this business, and I have to pay twice the amount of shipping to get it back to me.

Pretty darn frustrating..
What would you guys do?

---------------------------------
UPDATE: 12 July

Well, it finally arrived at my FFL to my surprise. I told the company to put the recepit inside the box and I would reimburse them for shipping, simple.
Well, I got to my FFl and tell them that my pistol was coming via USPS. Luckily, the amount of guns I have had transfered there they recognized my name at the post office, because the basterds put the pistol as a COD!
Can you believe that? No notification or information sent to me or my FFL that this pistol was going to be COD (cash on delivery). If my FFL didn't know me personally, the pistol would have been shipped back to the company and I would have been screwed (and out of my state by the time it was ready to get back)

I can't believe this, REALLY REALLY BOTHERED THE PISS out of me. And i really want to say the name of this company...
but bad form holds me back..

I'd ask them why they want double the normal shipping. And when requesting the refinish, why did they not give you a time table BEFORE you agreed to send it (unless they did?). If it were me I would threaten them with legal action since they are only out postage for a stamp if they mailed an FFL.( Or pay for it with a credit card and do a reverse charge for half the amount after you recieve it . Contact the BBB and the ATF on this if they continue to give you flak, you can declair it stolen since they have not rendered any service to you, and refuse to release YOUR property ( unless it is a written policy that they can provide upon request). Keep all emails/letters between you two for use if needed. What company is this, you do have the right to give them bad press too!!

I think you misunderstood when I said I had to pay double the shipping. What I meant was when I bought the gun the price included shipping, and it was sent to the company directly. Now, I have to pay shipping AGAIN to get it home to me, in the unwanted condition.

I will not mention names though, no need.

If it was bearcoat, they would send him the slide, and tell him the barrel wasn't in the original shipment, therefore, not their responsibility.

OOOhh...you've nver heard of bearcoat?! EVERYONE should hear about Bearcoat!

Also known as Rocky Mountain Arms. They did a real disservice and were very unprofessional to an incredible extreme to a fellow shooter:

It's a long thread but gets real interesting.

$25 is $25. Simple as that. They will not ship it USPS, per my request. It is a FFL to FFL, and you are allowed to ship handguns ground through that medium.
