Indiana Jones Question (gun related)
Well, for all you (and I) Indiana Jones fans out there, the fourth movie is coming soon to the big screen. I have always liked the character. And, as silly as this may sound, I kind of been having the urge to see if I could buy a gun like the one he uses. I don't know much about revolvers, so I was wondering if anyone knows what Indy uses to blast the evil Nazi's, and the occaisional giant-sword wielding show-off? Thanks.

I think the greatest gun part is when Jones takes out the big sword guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark. So funny and actually wasn't scripted.

+1 That part is hilarious and even got a chuckle out of my dad who I don't think laughed at a movie more than 3 or 4 times in his life.

Indiana Jones seems to use a variety of pistols.
The one he throws on his suitcase in the beginning while packing (in Raiders) looks like a Colt Police Positive or S&W Hand Ejector in 38 Spl. Later on, he has some sort of top-break that looks like a big bore British .455 Webley in a flap holster. On the steamer ship, he is seen wiping off a Hi-Power (which is really odd, because that was VERY new at the time that movie was set. - Brickboy240

There is a scene in the new movie that is supposed to take place at an airfield in Morocco. But they filmed in at the airport in my wife's hometown of Deming, NM. Spielberg came in and painted the old WWII era hangars to match the look of the times the movie is played in. The coolest part is that nobody in town could get near the airport while it was being filmed, except for those who had hangars at the airport. My FIL has a hangar there and so my wife went down for a few days and took some pictures of the set. Unfortunately, they were not filming any of the times she was at the airport looking around, but she did get pretty close and saw the set.

The story behind that is kinda funny actually. The script called for an actual fight between the sword guy and Indy. The day they were supposed to shoot the scene Ford was super sick and had a really high fever and wasn't in any condition to shoot a physically demanding scene...one quick on-the-spot rewrite and the end result is cinematic history.
