Any S&W M&P Compact owners?

Although the wife has a CPL, she does not carry a pistol at this time. Anyhow we were at the range the other day and afterwards we checked out a few pistols (XD9 SC included). She seems to like the S&W M&P Compact 9. She's a lefty and the M&P has an ambi slide release and user reversible mag release.

Anybody got one of these and what do you think of it? A few things I noticed right away was it has no firing pin indicator and no grip safety (just a trigger interlock).

My wife has one and loves it. Its an excellent little gun with great ergonomics. Its accurate and, so far, 100% reliable. The only complaint she had was the trigger. I sent it off for a trigger job and night sight and now she's extremely happy with it.

I sent it to Bowie Tactical Concepts. They polished the feed ramp and chamber, did an excellent trigger job and installed Ameriglo Operator night sights for $190. It was the $120 in round trip shipping that was the killer.

This is how you turn a $439 gun into a $792 gun:

$439 shipped + $13 3% credit card fee + $25 transfer + $5 background check + $190 trip to gunsmith + $120 shipping = $792

I picked a M&P 9c for my girlfriend last month. She likes it alot. I have tiny ass hands so it's not my favorite, but is a good shooter and has a decent trigger.

My only complaint is the lack of safeties and the handle is too "long" (too wide from front to back) even with the smallest insert.
