A right not used is one soon lost.

OC is common here. Many people are still ignorant of that fact and I have only had one or two incidents with some really left leaning libs that had an issue with it.
Of course, one can be charged here with "Going to the Terror of the People." Basically meaning that if you scare some moonbat, you can go to jail for it.
Our countrys LEO is pretty laid back with the issue.

That said, im about to go to work, and its the Glocks turn to ride with me today.
Its OC

Have never done it, nor have I seen it done.

The main problem I see is the silly laws concerning transporting a gun in a vehicle. If you don't have CCW, then gun must be unloaded, locked up, and out of reach of the driver (preferably in the trunk). So that means, when I get to a (busy) Subway parking lot I would have to open trunk, load weapon, put it in the holster and walk in the store... WITH EVERYONE WATCHING ME.

I just don't see it being practical around here.

WA has the same law, but I have my CPL, so no worries for me!

This is a common misconception. Here are the facts of the "Going Armed to the Terror of the People".

Quote:
Going Armed to the Terror of the Public

This is a common law offense (272 N.C. 535; 32 N.C. App 495).

A person guilty of this offense

(1) arms himself or herself with unusual and dangerous weapons (firearm)

(2) for the purpose of terrifying others

(3) and goes about on public highways

(4) in a manner to cause terror to others.
You have to be violating ALL four of those at the same time to be charge with this offense and even then it's doubful it will stick. From my understanding this was enacted back in the 50's or when some KKK guys loaded up in the back of a pickup and went around terrorizing the minorities in the area.

Also IIRC the last time anyone was charged with this was back in the early 90s or something like that not sure if he was convicted though.

A weapon in the holster is not going about in a manner to cause terror to others. Now if you were walking around waving it around in your hand that would be different.

It's legal in VA and I've OC before. Most people don't even notice. And the ones that do, ask me if I'm in Security or a LEO since I'm pretty clean cut. I've never been asked to leave an establishment because I was OC, but I've heard stories of people that have. Also some LEO are not aware of the correct laws so you could get hassled by them.

I've actually met some nice people while OC. You see in VA, you cannot CC in a place that serves alcohol for consumption. There is nothing saying you cannot OC, so I switch to OC when going into those places. A lot of people are genuinely interested in your firearm, and once you tell them OC is legal their eyes brighten up.

It's only legal here if you are unloaded. Therefore no one does.

Sometimes...it's nice to not worry about printing or concealment. No permit needed to open carry in PA at age 18 except in Philadelphia, you have to have a permit to carry open or concealed there.

PA, and the people in it, except for the democrats in Philly, are pretty pro-gun.

I open carry when I take the garbage out to the road (300 foot driveway, typically use the Mule [4x4 thing] to do it, and I have to drive down the road a ways).

Only seen one person in a car so far and they didn't even notice.
