Congrats. You'll be buying nachos and walking the aisles before you know it.

Open book and you could get help from others in the class. Then, the instructor went over all the answers with us and you could change them if you wanted. He didnt care how many you got wrong as long as you knew the right ones before you left.
The range time was a piece of cake too. 24 rounds at 15 ft and 24 at 21 ft. No fast shooting or shooting with either hands like some classes.
He would give pointers to those who needed it, but never said a word to me. I was one of the best shots in the class. One guy was so bad, he had to stay late and shoot some more with the instructor. He was shooting a 38, and at 15 ft, he couldnt hit the target at all, not once!
Like I said, easy class, but Im glad I did it and its over.
Keep in mind the class is likely a minimum requirement to ensure the required information is covered, IE, you've gotten/heard the correct information, not that you knew it coming in. My formal class requirement didn't have a written test, that was on the day that my application was processed by the Sheriff's Department. 29 common sense questions and 1 regarding the length of time until a license expired (the one I missed ). 80% was a passing score.

My range requirement was 3 sets of 5 shots each, from 5, 10 and 15 yards. While hitting the target was a part of it, we were (I'm sure as you were too) being observed for safe handling of a handgun. That could have failed us just as easily.

Once you get your CCW, that's when you'll need to look for some REAL training classes if you want to be improve your skills. Hitting your target is just part of it.
Congrats! You're on your way to becoming a SHEEPDOG.

Congratulations on the test. The wait will seem like forever. I am in Indiana and the last time i renewed my permit I got the Life permit so that I do not have to remember to go back in four or five years to renew.
