animanls are funny

So i was down in what i call the "bootleg" on my property...its about a 25 yard wide strip of land inbetween some woods and the illinois bayou. due to a flood last year the bayou is huge and has like a 15 foot cliff down to it so its really cool now...even though it whiped out my tire swing....anyways....i pistol shoot down there sometimes so i have lots of steel targets and such set up and its pretty fun.

i was shooting for about 20 minutes when a beaver got curious and started climbing up the cliff and started sniffing around. it came within like ten feet of me...looked at me and then slowly turned around to head back into the bayou. or so he thought. so i plugged him cut off his tail and left him on the bank of the bayou. the very next night i went down in the bootleg to check pig traps and look for armaduches!!! and there was MONSTER beaver laying on top of the dead beaver...it didnt even run off when i came near. so i plugged him too! this beaver you will never believe....65 lbs!!! it was a monster.

Why would you kill it and leave it there? Do they dam up a steam and flood your property?

they dam it up pretty bad on some spots...in this area they are considered a nuisance and you can get paid 10 bucks per tail. and the illinois bayou is not a stream!! its about 60 feet wide on one fork and 20 foot wide on the other. thats just the part thats thru my land. about 15 feet deep too.

anyways...i leave it there so i can come back and predator hunt with it...i never suspected to find another beaver on it.
