Check this site out. A word of warning, you don't want to take the mag release out it's a bear to put back. The grip safety can also be tricky.
Springfield Armory XD and HS2000.com Here's a post to a nice trick for the grip safety. Look for the post by Htown stunna. Grip safety reassemble? XD40 HELP

In the past week I learned how to strip it all but the grip safety and the mag release.... I won't be messing with those any time soon. Take the time to learn, it's really not that hard.

Nope you don't have to remove it. Just a bit of warning he grip safety can be a bear to put back on. Make sure you look at the post by Htown when you ready to put it back on.

I tried pushing the grip safety pin out, but it felt like I was tapping too hard, and it wasn't coming out. Anything I need to know?
