iPod Classic or ?

I've had a iPod Shuttle for a while and I'm looking for an upgrade (the wife will be taking my Shuttle). Mainly, I will use this for music, not much video. I'm looking at the iPod Classic 180GB.

I've read some mixed reviews about the iPod Classic - anyone care to share their experiences? Or is there another competitive product that you would recommend?

Also, can anyone recommend a good FM tuner so I can use this in my car?

Thanks.

I'm on my 2nd iPod now and love them. I had a 4th generation (20 gig) and it worked great but got the new 80 gig because I wanted the video. I've also heard good things about the Zune too. I use the Monster Cable fm transmitter but would like to get a new head unit so the display is integrated and have a direct connection between the two...

Zune does have good reviews and they have worked out most of the bugs that plauged the earlier versions, but the ipod nano won me over.

As far as the FM modulators, they don't work very well, at least I have not found one that satisfies me, including the Monster one. Upgrade your head unit. I think you'll be happier.

I had an ipod, but now only have Zunes, 2 one 30 gig for the car, one 4 gig for running and on the motorcycle.

I started out with one of the early 4th gen iPods. The HD finally died (just left it in the car all the time, finally warped from the heat) I now have an 80gig video, and an 8gig iPhone. I love them. Best thing since sliced bread.

I would get the iPod over any other comparable music player out there. The monster FM transmitter works well, as well as the griffin unit that plugs into the cig lighter.

i pods are great but if you getting one of the nano ones the ipods tend to cost almost twice as much. so the other brands will be just as good except ipod has more different goodies

Started off with IPOD nano but now I want the 80GB version. Once I had some of my music accessible, now I want it all in the palm of my hand. Podcasts are cool too.
