Welcome SoFlo..

If you haven't ever been to the infamous Andersonville Civil War Prison, it houses the National POW Museum. I am going to donate these to that museum for them to hopefully put on display.

They have POW exhibits from all the wars we have fought, regarding our POW's confinement, etc...quite moving. As well as the Civil War Prison site itself.

I urge everyone that hasn't..try to make it there..it is quite an experience.

If you can't..here are some pictures of my travels there and about;

or visit the Andersonville URL itself;

By the way..if someone finds that they have a relative interred at Andersonville, and you can get the grave location (see the Andersonville URL for a look up). I will gladly motor up there and take a picture of your relatives grave marker if you'd like.

The civil war has my attention as I have a relative who survived that Prison camp..and that in itself is something. So far I have been able to trace and visit his capture site, where he was held and where he was released from in a prisoner exchange. All within a couple hundred miles of where I am living right now..never knew that until I started reading about Andersonville..and then mentioned it to a cousin..and next thing you know..I am out motoring to where the relative was captured, housed, and released.
