What were you expecting for a faithful reproduction, isn't that what you were looking for?

Yes, the BAR was not a cheap piece to produce. Lots of machining and hand fitting, like the Thompson.

Have you ever held one? Not exactly something you want to carry around for long.....very heavy and long.

I saw an Ohio Ord. BAR once and it looked very good, indeed.

Or you could play Day of Defeat for a low fee (maye $10 bucks for a halflife cd key) and shoot Nazis with a fully automatic BAR to your heart's content!

It makes me think of the old TV series "Combat". One of the regulars carried a BAR all the time.

He was pure-tee-hell on the Nazis. They surrendered in droves when the big BAR went to barkin'.

Of course Vic Morrow could make sniper range shots with that Thompson he carried too.

You really didn't see a lot of BARs that I can recall on TV or in the movies. I think I have read that Clyde Barrow of "Bonnie and Clyde" was an expert with a BAR and often carried a shortened version.

I had the honor of having one in my armory in the Navy, and shot it plenty, but it was a chore and a half to clean.

The guy in "Combat" who carried the BAR was "Caje," a Cajun soldier from LA I do believe.

Clyde Barrow butchered his BAR to make it shorter and by all accounts made it less than reliable.
