North Bay/Penninsula (SF) 9MM owners?
Hi Guys,
I'm in the North Bay (Santa Rosa - San Francisco, CA area) and would like to know if there is anyone nearby who would let me range fire their 9MM XD. I'd like to get a feel for it (other than in the gun store) and see how it feels. Obviously, I'll cover ammo cost and bring whatever you prefer. I'm looking at buying one as a dual purpose CCW/range weapon, but also something that my wife can shoot once she gets here from Thailand. She's 5'3" and under 90 pounds, so I don't think she'd be comforatable with a .40 or .45. Right now, the choices for me are between an XD and a Ruger P series. I could also come down to the Penninsula or even to the East Bay on a weekend. I work in SF and commute, so weekdays are pretty much out of the question. |

Marc,
I will be shooting the Richmond IDPA match on Sunday with my XD9 Tactical. Mine has a custom trigger, so that won't give you a factory feel, but you will get an idea of how the way gun feels when it fires. Additionally, my brother-in-law will have his factory XD9 Service model there. You are welcome to come by and track me down. It wouldn't be a problem to let you put a few rounds through both guns either during or after the match. You can find the address and directions on Richmond's website: Richmond Hotshot's. The match will run from 9am to at least 2pm. - Jim Griffiths |
